Former Kaizer Chiefs winger Junior Khanye has boldly stated that Orlando Pirates have found themselves a new Benedict ‘Tso’ Vilakazi in Ndabayithethwa Ndlondlo.

Ndlondlo, 27, arrived at Orlando Stadium on Deadline Day after completing a surprise move from Marumo Gallants.

He was one of three players signed on Deadline Day by the Buccaneers, alongside Kermit Erasmus and goalkeeper Sipho Chaine.

Khanye was impressed with Pirates transfer business, hailing the signing of Ndlondlo, who he believes can become the club’s new Tso Vilakazi.

“He’s one of the best midfielders currently in the DStv Premiership, he’s far better than many players,” Khanye told iDiski Times.

“He’s underrated, I don’t care about his height. The best player in the world is Lionel Messi, he is the same height, it’s not about height, nothing.

“I wish Pirates can use him according to his strengths, they mustn’t complicate things – I’m talking [about] Jose Riveiro, he must use him according to his strength.

“He reminds me of Benedict ‘Tso’ Vilakazi, and Andile Jali sort of, but more Tso Vilakazi. Similar player, they’ve got another Tso in Ndlondlo.”

Vilakazi, just like Ndlondlo, was very small in stature with a height of only 1.57m but became the club’s all-time record goalscorer with 52 goals.

Ndlondlo, who is 1.61m, has taken Vilakazi’s former shirt No.15 and immediately impressed on his Buccaneers debut against Mamelodi Sundowns in the MTN8 semi-final first leg where he was voted Man of the Match.
