Kaizer Chiefs attacker Khama Billiat remains optimistic despite the recent injury setback that has ruled him out for the remainder of the 2022/23 PSL season.
A few weeks ago, Billiat went for a surgery to repair a torn groin muscle, with Chiefs confirming in a statement that the 32-year-old will feature for the club.
There has also been speculation about the player’s future at the club, with his contract expiring soon. Some have linked Billiat with a move to Saudi Arabia but nothing has been confirmed so far.
KHAMA BILLIAT REMAINS POSITIVE
Speaking to the media this past weekend, the former Zimbabwean international says he is pleased with the support he is receiving from the club during his time on the sidelines.
“It’s a difficult time for any player to be okay on the sidelines due to something you are not in control of, like injuries,” he admitted.
“But the support from the club and the guys and everyone I meet out there is amazing. It’s something that I always take positively and make sure that I am in the right state of mind.
“It happens to everyone and I will work hard and come back strong.”
AMAKHOSI FAITHFUL SHOW LOVE TO KHAMA BILLIAT
Billiat has also commended the club supporters in Limpopo for always showing team love when they play at Peter Mokaba Stadium.
“It’s a great feeling, and we really appreciate it. We thank them because they receive us in a brilliant way, and we are truly blessed,” added Billiat.
“We are working hard to actually come here and give the best performances for our supporters.”
Despite being on the sidelines, Billiat remains the player with most assists for the club this season. His last match was during the Soweto derby against Orlando Pirates in October last year.
