Sekhukhune United head coach Brandon Truter has revealed the key factors that contributed to Babina Noko’s success in the just-ended 2022/23 PSL season.
Truter says that the support and stability afforded by Sekhukhune’s leadership group helped the side to sustain success in the last term.
The ex-Swallows and AmaZulu mentor pointed to the supportive structure of the club’s hierarchy, players, and technical team as being fundamental factors for the side’s success.
Truter also referenced the players’ attitude and mentality as one of the elements that really helped the team.
KEY FACTORS THAT CONTRIBUTED TO SEKHUKHUNE UNITED’S SUCCESS
“I think the main contributing factors and elements that led to our success this season was the players,” Truter told the club’s media department.
“They brought in absolutely good attitude and mentality as well. And after that, there is a team that takes care of the teams’ needs.
“Logistically, we have to give credit to our managers and the owners as well, at the same time they make sure everything runs smoothly, and for the technical team and players mustn’t worry about anything except for poor performance. And well done to everyone associated with the club.”
SEKHUKHUNE UNITED’S ACHIEVEMENT IN THE 2022/23 SEASON UNDER BRANDON TRUTER
Since Truter took over the coaching reigns at the Limpopo club in November 2022 after the departure of Kaitano Tembo, the club changed for the better.
Under the tutelage of Truter, Sekhukhune qualified for MTN8 Cup for the first time in Babina Noko’s history.
‘Brakkies’, as he is popularly known within the football circles, guided the side to the 2023 Nedbank Cup final. Their first final in the club’s history.
To add a cherry on top, Truter helped Sekhukhune to qualify for the CAF Confederation Cup tournament next season, also for the first in the club’s history.
