Kerr Comments On Chivaviro Interest

Marumo Gallants incumbent coach Dylan Kerr has commented on the speculation around the club’s red-hot striker Ranga Chivaviro.

The 30-year-old centre forward has scored his 15th goal of the season, when Gallants played to a 1-1 draw with Pyramids in Cairo on Sunday and became the joint-top goalscorer in the CAF Confederation Cup with five goals since the group stage proper.

The in-form South African has also scored nine league goals and, if he continued his red-hot form, is not without chances in the race for Lesley Manyathela golden boot.

As reported by this website, a few clubs have shown interest in the striker but no formal offers have been presented as yet, with his contract set to expire in June – even though it includes an option to extend, which needs to be agreed to by both sides.

“It’s good that so many teams show interest in him. But I told him last night he can be a top goalscorer of CAFCC and DStv Premiership, we still have games,” Kerr told iDiski Times.

“He still has a few months left in his contract with a one-year option to extend, so it’s all up to him. But he is a good striker, obviously I don’t want to lose him.”

The big three in Tanzania; Simba SC, Young Africans, and Azam are amongst those who have shown interest in the striker, while there’s been interest from North Africa as well, with Egyptian side Future Football Club said to be interested.
