Amapiano star Kelvin Momo is gearing up to take centre stage in Durban as the headline act for his highly anticipated One Man Concert on April 5 at the Moses Mabhida Stadium People’s Park.

The show, presented in partnership with Durban Tourism and Don Julio, marks another major milestone for the producer born Thato Kelvin Ledwaba, whose “Private School Piano” sound has become a defining force within amapiano’s softer, soulful lane.

Despite having faced criticism in the past over missed performances, Kelvin has moved quickly to reassure fans in KwaZulu-Natal that this time, he is locked in.

“Durban has always shown me real love. The energy there is warm and soulful, and people truly connect with the music. Bringing this experience to the city felt like the right moment,” he said.

Over the years, Kelvin Momo has built a reputation for groove-heavy, emotionally layered productions that have resonated far beyond South Africa’s borders.

His catalogue boasts more than 476 million streams on Spotify, with close to two million monthly listeners, numbers that reflect his growing global footprint.

His sound has even caught the attention of international heavyweights.

Canadian superstar Drake previously described Kelvin’s music as a “religious experience” and has incorporated his beats into international live sets, further amplifying amapiano’s presence on the world stage.

The Durban concert is expected to deliver an immersive musical journey, with Kelvin leading the charge alongside select collaborators who have been part of his artistic evolution.

Tickets, priced between R295 and R795, went on sale via Webticket on Friday, with organisers promising a memorable night anchored by one of amapiano’s most distinctive hitmakers.
