Kay Yarms has reflected deeply on the failure of her business venture but believes the decision was long overdue.

The much-loved and highly influential Kay Yarms confirmed that her business, Saxx Beauty, has officially shut its doors. The Kwa Zulu-Natal native, who’s known for showcasing skin routines and makeup tutorials, took to her YouTube channel and reflected openly about an array of factors that led to the demise of her much-talked-about beauty spot in Cape Town.

Khethokuhle Ngonyama, but popularly known as Kay Yarms, revealed that the year 2025 was filled with highs and lows. In an emotional reveal, she explained that one of those lows was the closing down of her beauty salon business.

The 31-year-old said that the breakdown of her business was mainly influenced by her lack of business acumen. Issues such as managing people, conflicts and dealing with unsatisfied clients remained prevalent in her tenure as a business owner.

Taken from her YouTube channel, Kay Yarms revealed the following about her failure of Saxx Beauty:

“I unfortunately had to close my salon, Saxx Beauty. It kind of broke me. I don’t think I talk about it enough, and this is my first time speaking about it”, said Kay.

“I didn’t want to cry, it’s my first time speaking about it. When you start a business, it’s kind of like your baby. You invest so much time, effort, money. You put in so much work”, said Kay.

SAXX BEAUTY: END OF AN ERA

Saxx Beauty opened its doors in 2023. The new swanky beauty salon fit perfectly within the vibrant city of Cape Town. Upon announcing her newest business venture, scores of Kay Yarms fans flooded her with well-wishes.

Despite the unfortunate turn of her beauty endeavour, Kay Yarms feels a sense of relief, as she’s no longer stressed about the overwhelming demands of running the business.
