Monique Muller arrested for alleged illegal firearm possession

Monique Muller, known as the former partner of TV presenter Katlego Maboe and mother of his child, has reportedly been arrested in Cape Town for alleged possession of an illegal firearm.

According to reports, the 29-year-old was taken into custody last Sunday in Ravensmead along with five other individuals.

Police sources revealed that the arrests could be linked to ongoing gang-related investigations in the area, although details remain under review.

Western Cape police spokesperson Sergeant Wesley Twigg confirmed Muller’s arrest and stated that she is facing charges of illegal possession of a firearm.

The case was briefly heard at the Cape Town Magistrate’s Court on October 21 and has been postponed to October 30 for further proceedings.

Muller is said to still be in police custody pending her next court appearance.

The news has attracted public attention, given Muller’s previously high-profile relationship with Maboe.

The pair’s breakup in 2020 became a national headline after allegations of infidelity and domestic abuse surfaced, leading to a major public fallout.
