Zambia national team head coach Avram Grant has named his 27-man squad that will face Lesotho in the 2023 African Cup Of Nations qualifiers.
Grant had 40 players in the preliminary squad, which consisted of only local based players and later he cut the team to 27 and named the players playing overseas.
Former Kaizer Chiefs forward Lazarous Kambole and Leicester City striker Patson Daka are amongst the players involved in the squad.
Kambole is back in the Zambia national team for the first time since 2019.
The 29-year-old has enjoyed his return to Zesco United as he scored four goals. He returned to the club in January on loan from Tanzanian side Young Africans.
Daka hasn’t had a good time at his club Leicester City having scored four goals and assisted on three occasions.
The 24-year-old is expected to lead Zambia to its first AFCON since 2015.
Zambia will face Lesotho in a back-to-back AFCON qualifying match. Chipolopolo are sitting second after playing two games, losing to Ivory Coast and defeating Comoros.
