Kaizer Chiefs won’t win the league this season, says club legend

Kaizer Chiefs will NOT win the Betway Premiership title this season despite their impressive start to the current campaign.

And that’s according to club legend Reneilwe Letsholonyane, who twice won the league with Chiefs as a player.

Speaking to Omni Audio, ‘Yeye’ said he believes Chiefs are playing good enough to be in the top eight teams.

Now, all they need is consistency to be able to at least finish the season inside the top four teams come May 2026.

Letsholonyane is hopeful, though, that Chiefs are good enough to fight for league honours next season.

As things stand, Chiefs are second on the log with 10 points from their opening four league games – they have won three and drawn one.

Meanwhile, Letsholonyane just resumed his new role as head coach of Botswana FNB Premiership side Matebele FC.

KAIZER CHIEFS NOT READY TO WIN THE LEAGUE – YEYE

“No, I don’t think they are in a position to win the league,” said Letsholonyane.

“I think I mention again last time that the way they started, it is a definite that they will be in the top eight.

“And what is left for them now is to play and be consistent for the top four.

“And I said if they win the league, it will be a good thing… it will be wow, but not sort of expected (this season) in my opinion.”

“My opinion would be, top eight is definite, now they must play for being within the top four teams, and next season… definitely, definitely then push for the league,” he concluded.
