Kaizer Chiefs have kept their 100 percent win rate at the start of the season by beating Sekhukhune United 2-0 at FNB Stadium on Wednesday.

Luke Baartman and Mduduzi Shabalala scored netted on the night, and for the former, this was his first in the Amakhosi colours.

Amakhosi went into this encounter on the back of a 1-0 loss to Golden Arrows in the quarterfinals of the MTN8 last weekend.

And coach Fernando da Cruz made several changes to the team that started against Arrows with Langelihle Phili getting his first start.

After a tightly contested first half where both teams were locked at 0-0 after the first 45 minutes, Chiefs upped the ante in the second half.

In the 63rd minute, Amakhosi were rewarded for consistently putting the pressure on Sekhukhune United for much of the game.

Chiefs then took control of the game as the visitors desperately looked for an equaliser but struggled to keep up with the pace.

Substitute Shabalala, who came on for Asavela Velebayi, then doubled the home side’s lead with a brilliant individual goal towards the end of the game.

And the goal proved to be the final one for the game as Chiefs took all the maximum points with them to move to six points after two games.
