Kaizer Chiefs host the Citizens at the FNB Stadium, kick off is at 15:30.

Amakhosi find themselves in a difficult patch after suffering four consecutive defeats in all competitions, including three straight losses in the league that have seen them slide down to sixth place on the table.

KAIZER CHIEFS VS DURBAN CITY STARTING LINE UPS:

Kaizer Chiefs starting line up: Bvuma, Solomons, Kwinika, Miguel, Cross, Maboe, Ndlovu, Du Preez, Shabalala, Lilepo, Duba.

Substitutes: Mazhamba, Monyane, Mako, Mabaso, Ngcobo, Sirino, Silva, Vilakazi, Velebayi.

Durban City starting line up: Yet to be announced.

WHAT TO EXPECT

Not long ago, Amakhosi looked like a team capable of challenging on several fronts. Amakhosi were still alive in the Nedbank Cup, the Betway Premiership title race and the CAF Confederation Cup, giving supporters hope that the season could deliver multiple rewards.

However, a sudden dip in form has stalled that momentum. A heavy defeat to arch-rivals Orlando Pirates in the Soweto Derby is also believed to have left a psychological mark on the squad.

Despite the recent struggles, an opportunity still exists to revive their campaign. A victory could lift the Soweto giants back up to third place on the log as they continue their push to secure qualification for CAF competitions next season.

After the clash against Durban City, Chiefs will remain at home for their next assignment when they welcome Magesi FC to Naturena. The meeting with Dikwena tša Meetse will be Amakhosi’s final fixture before the international break brings the month to a close.

Earlier in the campaign, the Glamour Boys were still harbouring ambitions of lifting silverware. Those hopes have now faded after their elimination from both the Nedbank Cup and the CAF Confederation Cup, leaving the league as their primary focus.

The contrast in form has been striking. Before February, Kaizer Chiefs had suffered only one league defeat and had conceded just six goals.

A poor run of results during February has completely shifted the trajectory of their season, leaving the club now battling simply to secure a place inside the top eight.
