Kaizer Chiefs transfer rumours: Benni McCarthy, Sirino, Ngcobo

Today’s Kaizer Chiefs rumours involve Benni McCarthy, Stanley Nwabali, Gaston Sirino and Nkosingiphile Ngcobo.

Kaizer Chiefs continue their search for a reliable ‘keeper

Chiefs are rumoured to have made an official offer for Nigerian goalkeeper Stanley Nwabali, who is a free agent. A move for the former Chippa man would cast doubt over the futures of Brandon Petersen and Fiacre Ntwari.

Benni McCarthy says ‘come and get me’ to Chiefs

Former Porto, Blackburn and Ajax striker Benni McCarthy says he’s open to a return to club football. The Kenya head coach is currently the frontrunner to replace the caretaker duo of Cedric Kaze and Khalil Ben Youssef.

“They are a good team with very good players,” McCarthy said via IOL.

“But if nobody comes knocking on my door, it means you are happy with what you have. If they want me, they know where I am and how to make it happen. Other than that, it’s just a rumour.”

Ngcobo’s Kaizer Chiefs days numbered?

Fan-favourite and academy talent Nkosingiphile Ngcobo is under fire for his failure to string together consistent performances for the first team. Injuries have ravaged the 26-year-old’s career to date, and rumours suggest the club could move him on at the end of the 2025-26 campaign.

Sirino doesn’t cut the mustard

Meanwhile, after an underwhelming stint with the club, 35-year-old Uruguayan Gaston Sirino is unlikely to have his contract renewed after failing to provide big performances in big games.
