Kaizer Chiefs to make Arthur Zwane decision TODAY?

Kaizer Chiefs could potentially decide the fate of their coach Arthur Zwane as early as today if the latest reports are to be believed.

Zwane was appointed Chiefs coach on a three-year contract the beginning of the recently concluded season, but endured a torrid time.

At the start of the Zwane-era Chiefs made a massive clear out, getting rid of some experienced players, some of which had not been able to lead Amakhosi to any silverware during their lengthy stays at the club.

A lot of the players that were released by Chiefs were over 30-years-old with the majority never winning a trophy while at the club. Besides the Bernard Parker, the likes of Daniel Cardoso, Ramahlwe Mphahlele, Leonardo Castro and Daniel Akpeyi had never touched any silverware during their careers at the club.

After that, Chiefs invested in players who were either younger or in their prime years, like Ashley du Preez, Zitha Kwinika, George Matlou, Dillon Solomons and Yusuf Maart to name but a few. With new acquisition Thatayaone Ditlhokwe, 24, Given Msimango, 26, and Mduduzi Mdantsane, 28, all proving consistent with Zwane’s strategy. But if news coming out today is anything to go by, he might not be at the club to oversee the second phase of his vision as head coach next season.

That is because Soccer-Laduma are reporting that the Chiefs board are set to sit in a meeting today, which could possibly be crucial in determining the future of Zwane. 

Chiefs to meet about Zwane’s future

“There is a meeting happening tomorrow (Wednesday) and it’s not looking good for Zwane, There is talk of wanting to bring in a senior coach to assist Zwane, but it seems that the coach is not keen to work under that kind of system, which could see him leave,” said the source.

It would be interesting to see if the resolution on Zwane would come so soon after the conclusion of the season, especially with him having already signed players for his second season at Chiefs.
