Kaizer Chiefs’ management and technical team are actively creating an improved playing squad for the 2025/26 Betway Premiership season, and of course, the CAF Confederation Cup.

Since the start of the transfer window, Amakhosi have now parted ways with no fewer than eight players.

The Kaizer Chiefs exit list includes:

  • Sabelo Radebe
  • Njabulo Blom
  • Ranga Chivaviro
  • Edson Castillo
  • Bongani Sam
  • Edmilson Dove
  • Tebogo Potsane.

Player exits mean the availability of jersey numbers. Ask any football fan about the importance of particular jersey numbers when a team is hunting for new players, and they will confirm.

Some of these carry history and responsibility. Blom and Potsane’s exits mean jersey numbers 6 and 11 are available.

Number six belonged to the club’s legendary central midfielder Reneilwe Letsholonyane, while number 11 is synonymous with legends like Nelson Dladla, Jabu Pule, Emmanuel Ngobese and Knowledge Musona.

In the meantime, Amakhosi will kick off the new season away to Stellenbosch FC on Sunday, 10 August at the Athlone Stadium.
