Kaizer Chiefs have made a big splash in the ongoing winter transfer window, but there’s still a glaring weakness.

There’s still conjecture around who is most capable of being the number one goalkeeper at Naturena.

Chiefs are scouring the continent to bolster their options between the sticks.

Kaizer Chiefs target Guinean keeper Camara

Asante Katoko and Guinea goalkeeper Mohamed Kamara has revealed that Chiefs officials approached him after his penalty-saving heroics against the Glamour Boys in a Toyota Cup clash. The 25-year-old is wanted by other clubs too. Brandon Petersen is the current number one at Naturena, although that honour mostly belonged to Bruce Bvuma last term. 25-year-old Rwandan Fiacre Ntwari, who signed for Chiefs in July 2024, is reportedly on the brink of an exit.

“I was approached after our friendly match. They appreciated my performance, especially the four penalties saved,” said Camara.

“We had a long conversation. I told them to contact my club, as I still have a one-year contract.

“It’s nice to see the interest from a historic club like Kaizer Chiefs.”

“There are other clubs in Morocco and two in Europe who have also contacted me for information, but nothing concrete yet.

“I am ready to see out my contract. For now, there is no question of an extension. I am keeping my head up and working even harder to have a better season,” he concluded.
