The news comes ahead of the Soweto giants’ Betway Premiership clash against Richards Bay tonight.

The transfer ends a period of anticipation for Amakhosi fans, as the club had been working to secure the Nigerian forward’s signature for some time.

Ighodaro, 26, arrives with a reputation as a solid goalscorer from his various loan spells while at Sundowns.

Despite being on Sundowns’ books, Ighodaro never made an official appearance for the club.

He spent time on loan at four different teams: the University of Pretoria, Chippa United, SuperSport United, and most recently, AmaZulu.

Now, with a permanent home at Kaizer Chiefs, the striker will be looking to make his mark for a side that has had a strong start to the season with two wins in as many matches. He will wear the number 50 jersey.
