Kaizer Chiefs’ predicted 11 vs Kabuscorp

Kaizer Chiefs head into a make-or-break CAF Confederation Cup clash against Kabuscorp at FNB Stadium this Saturday, 27 September at 15:00.

So what’s the situation? Amakhosi slipped to a narrow 1-0 defeat in Luanda last weekend, courtesy of Julio’s 59th-minute strike, but the tie is still open.

To advance, Kaizer Chiefs need at least a 2-0 win. A 1-0 result would move the game to penalty kicks, a scene no Amakhosi player or fan is keen on.

KAIZER CHIEFS TEAM NEWS

First, some unwelcome news. Speaking to the media in the pre-match conference on Friday, interim coach Cedric Kaze revealed fresh injuries to Paseka Mako and Siphesihle Ndlovu. To the dismay of many, Khanyisa Mayo has yet to be registered for this competition and will therefore watch from the stands.

The update presents new opportunities for players such as Bradley Croos at left back to replace Mako, and Nkosingiphile Ngcobo, who has missed the lineup in the past four matches, will replace Ndlovu in the midfield.

Up front, the new Guinea international Flavio Silva, already with two goals in three outings, is the fitting replacement for Mayo in the striker role.

PREDICTED STARTING LINEUP VS KABUSCORP

  • Goalkeeper: Brandon Petersen
  • Right back: Reeve Frosler
  • Centre backs: Inacio Miguel, Zitha Kwinika
  • Left back: Bradley Cross
  • Midfielders: Sibongiseni Mthethwa, Nkosingiphile Ngcobo, Gaston Sirino
  • Forwards: Glody Lilepo, Ashley du Preez, Flavio da Silva.

Kick off will be at 15:00.

Victory will see Amakhosi move into the second preliminary round qualifier. The opponents? It will be the winning team in the battle with Djabal FC against Comoros and Simba from the Democratic Republic of Congo.
