Kaizer Chiefs news: Velebayi, Baartman and Duba

Posted on September 7, 2025

Kaizer Chiefs’ new era has been all about fresh faces, and few names have caused as much excitement as Asanele Velebayi and Luke Baartman.

The pair joined Amakhosi in August after the PSL’s Dispute Resolution Chamber ruled them free agents following Cape Town Spurs’ relegation to the ABC Motsepe League.

Kaizer Chiefs fans are buzzing, but before they even kick a ball for the club, teammate Wandile Duba has already laid down the law.

WANDILE DUBA’S MESSAGE TO KAIZER CHIEFS DUO

Duba, a striker who knows all about the weight of the Amakhosi jersey, revealed that he pulled the two aside when they arrived at Naturena. His message? Welcome to Kaizer Chiefs, but be ready, because this is no ordinary club.

“I told them that there is so much pressure when you’re playing for this team,” said Duba. “There’s so much pressure; they must just relax and play football. They are part of a big club.

“So, they must just be always be on top of their game,” the Soweto-born forward concluded.

WHAT DO YOU THINK OF DUBA’S MESSAGE TO THE TWO NEWCOMERS?
