Kaizer Chiefs news: R17 million sale on the cards, Pirates annoyed

Kaizer Chiefs are entertaining a big-money move for one of their most reliable performers. Meanwhile, Orlando Pirates fans are frustrated by one of their own departures.

Kaizer Chiefs consider offer for Lilepo?

According to Soccer Laduma, Moroccan giants AS FAR are keen to sign Congolese star Glody Lilepo. The 28-year-old has become one of the club’s most reliable operators, so a sale would be somewhat of a surprise. He bagged five goals and four assists in 27 league outings last term in a mostly wide attacking role. With news that Khanyisa Mayo is likely to sign permanently after his loan spell, it’s not out of the question that Lilepo could leave Naturena after arriving in from Valenciennes in January 2025.

Orlando Pirates let go of Sesane

26-year-old central defender Thabiso Sesane is no longer at the club. He was a mainstay in the first half of the 2024-25 campaign, but a serious injury in 2025-26 meant that he didn’t make a single league appearance in Pirates’ title-winning campaign. Have the board decided that Sesane won’t be able to get back to his best?

Argentina battles past England to book a World Cup final berth

After Spain strangled and suffocated France with their possession-style football, Luis De La Fuente’s European champions are waiting for Argentina in Sunday’s World Cup final. La Albiceleste left it late against England, eventually breaking Three Lions hearts with late goals from Enzo Fernandez and Lautaro Martinez, both assisted by the irrepressible Lionel Messi.
