Kaizer Chiefs have confirmed the departure of co-coaches Khalil Ben Youssef and Cedric Kaze following the expiry of their contracts after the 2025/26 season.
The duo, who took charge after the departure of former head coach Nasreddine Nabi in October 2025, helped steady the ship and oversaw a much-improved campaign for Amakhosi.
Top-three finish
Ben Youssef joined Kaizer Chiefs at the beginning of the 2024/25 season, while Kaze arrived in October 2024.
Both initially served as assistant coaches under Nabi before stepping into leadership roles following his exit.
Under their guidance, Kaizer Chiefs amassed 54 league points – the club’s second-best return in the last 11 years – and secured a top-three finish in the Betway Premiership.
The pair also came agonisingly close to reaching the knockout stages of the CAF Confederation Cup, missing out on qualification from Group D on goal difference after finishing with 10 points.
Thanked the staff
Across all competitions, including the Betway Premiership, CAF Confederation Cup, Carling Knockout Cup and Nedbank Cup, the coaches led Kaizer Chiefs in 39 matches, recording 19 wins, 11 draws and nine defeats.
Kaizer Chiefs also confirmed the departure of conditioning coach Majdi Safi, whose contract ended after the club’s final game of the season.
In a statement, the club thanked the coaching staff for their contribution and dedication, adding that further announcements regarding preparations for the new season would follow in the coming weeks.
