Kaizer Chief coaches Cedric Kaze and Khalil Ben Youssef are set to turn to their experienced new signing this weekend.

The Glamour Boys are desperate for a positive performance against Simba SC to keep their CAF Confederation Cup dream alive.

Following a goalless away draw in the first leg, Chiefs host their Congolese opponents at the Dobsonville in this weekend’s second leg.

And now, reports suggest a newly signed player will be used to get the job done.

Maboe set for Kaizer Chiefs debut

Former Mamelodi Sundowns star Lebohang Maboe is reportedly set to make his Kaizer Chiefs debut this weekend.

Maboe is no stranger to continental football, having been a key player for Mamelodi Sundowns over the years.

Now, the Amakhosi are banking on his CAF pedigree! The Glamour Boys are keen on giving Maboe his official debut this weekend according to Soccer Laduma!

“Kaizer Chiefs are set to take on DR Congo club AS Simba in the CAF Confederation Cup second leg second preliminary round clash at Dobsonville Stadium on Saturday and midfielder Lebohang Maboe is also believed to be in a good position to feature in the matchday squad,” the publication reported.

Maboe’s CAF experience

30-year-old midfielder Lebohang Maboe has made 45 appearances in continental football.

All 45 were in the colours of Mamelodi Sundowns and in the CAF Champions League as well as the African Football League.

Now, Kaizer Chiefs are set to reap the rewards of the Brazilians’ consistency on the continent.

In fact, one of the reasons Maboe was signed was due to his CAF experience.
