Kaizer Chiefs co-coach Cedric Kaze has called his keeper Brandon Petersen the best goalkeeper in the country.
The 31-year-old Amakhosi goalkeeper has been in fine form this season, only conceding six goals in the Betway Premiership. Petersen has kept 11 clean sheets and is contention to win the Goalkeeper of the Season award.
Petersen is yet to concede in 2026 and the Chiefs coach has hailed him as the best keeper in the country currently.
” I’m happy to call Brandon Petersen the best goalkeeper in South Africa at the moment for what he has shown and the consistency he has had since the start of the league. But credit also to the rest of the team for the clean sheets,” Kaze told Thabiso Mosia on Radio 2000.
Petersen has kept 11 clean sheets for Chiefs
Amakhosi have jumped to third on the log after two consecutive victories in the Betway Premiership in 2026.
Caze has credited the pre-season training for the team’s good results this season.
“Everyone in the team knows their role off the ball. But this hard work started in Holland when we realised that a team that doesn’t concede a lot is likely to be in a better position than a team that scores a lot but also concedes a lot”
Petersen will be tested this weekend when Kaizer Chiefs host Zambian side Zesco United in the CAF Confederation Cup. Amakhosi earned their first group win by edging out Zesco away.
