Sekhukhune United head coach Kaitano Tembo has identified two problems his team need to fixing to yield better results.
Since start of the season, Babina Noko have been lacking consistency. The Limpopo outfit have been struggling to convert their chances in front of goal and their shaky defence has been conceding easy goals.
One would expect Sekhukhune to be sitting at the top of the DStv Premiership log following their busy transfer business during the window.
After parting ways with dozens of players, they acquired the services of experienced players like Tshegofatso Mabasa, Linda Mntambo, Daniel Cardoso, Victor Lestoalo, Tashreeq Morris and Siphosakhe Ntiya-Ntiya to name a few.
However, on a sad note the team have not gelled yet as results are not coming. Sekhukhune are second of the last on the log.
In six matches, they’ve accumulated five points after registering one victory, two draws and suffered three defeats.
“We just haven’t been scoring goals and we have been giving away easy goals to our opponents. So I think we need to improve in that regard, defensively having a cleansheet.
“If we have a cleansheet tomorrow, we got a better chance of winning the game,” Tembo told the club media.
“We got our own problems in terms of not winning our last game. We are going to try to break and put it as a bad start. In terms of performance we have been playing very well.”
Ahead of a tricky tie against Cape Town City who have won back-to-back victories, Tembo admitted that it is going to be a difficult encounter on Wednesday evening.
“It’s going to be a tough game, coming here to play Cape Town City who are coming off a good win against TS Galaxy,” Tembo added.
Kickoff at Athlone Stadium is as 19:30.
