Kabza De Small

Kabza De Small found himself trending for the wrong reasons after the latest episode of the Piano Pulse Podcast took an unexpected turn.

Co-host Maesela “Thakgi” Ledwaba caused a stir when he made an offhand remark about the Amapiano star’s weight while discussing how fame influences artists’ appearance and lifestyle.

During the conversation, Thakgi claimed Kabza had put on weight and compared him to iGwinya, a popular South African fat cake.

“Kabza ke sdudla, you can see ke legwinya,” he blurted out.

What started as a general chat about how money shapes an artist’s image quickly turned into a heated debate online, with many calling out Thakgi for body-shaming.

Some fans expressed shock at his tone, while others clapped back by mocking his own looks in retaliation.

Following the backlash, Thakgi issued an apology, saying he wasn’t trying to disrespect Kabza but merely pointing out how success has changed different aspects of his life.

His co-host, Sfiso Ndlovu, even teased him during the episode, noting that Thakgi himself has gained weight since becoming popular.

The podcast has been no stranger to controversy. Not long ago, Ndlovu admitted to mishandling royalties owed to JL SA for the hit song Hamba Juba.

They also previously angered rapper Sizwe Alakine after calling his girlfriend, Gigi Lamayne, a “downgrade” from his ex, Lootlove.
