Following a deliberate brief pause to honour a deeply personal milestone, the legendary artist confirmed that his tenth studio album, For King & Country, will officially drop on 30 October 2026, bringing an 11-year hiatus from solo album releases to a triumphant close.
Honouring a lifelong brotherhood and legacy
The journey toward the release of For King & Country carries profound emotional weight for the star affectionately known as Bouga Luv. The album was originally slated for a mid-October release that coincided with what would have been the 50th heavenly birthday of his late TKZee brother and lifelong friend, Tokollo ‘Magesh’ Tshabalala.
Out of deep respect for his fallen brother and to ensure that Magesh received his full flowers without distraction during his milestone tribute, Mabalane made the conscious decision to adjust his rollout schedule.
By allowing the nation to focus entirely on celebrating Magesh’s indelible impact, sparking tributes and commemorative singles like Ma Gash Is Beethoven, the kwaito legend demonstrated the enduring power of a brotherhood that transcends time, cementing the new 30 October launch date with a definitive promise to his loyal fanbase.

A new musical chapter grounded in authenticity
The 12-track project represents a monumental return for Mabalane, who last dropped a solo body of work a decade ago with Immortal Vol. 3. Ahead of the full album drop, he gave fans a taste of what to expect with the soulful lead single Everybody Needs Somebody, featuring The Arrows.
Merging rich live instrumentation, gospel influences, and signature Kwaito-bred storytelling, the upcoming record explores themes of resilience, personal evolution, faith, and survival. As the countdown to 30 October ticks down, music lovers across Mzansi are eagerly bracing themselves for a masterclass in longevity and timeless artistry from one of the architects of South African urban culture.
