- 25-year-old Armindo Pacula abandoned his bail bid after his illegal immigration status was confirmed in court.
- Pacula faces counts of premeditated murder and conspiracy in the high-profile killing of Warrick Stock, aka DJ Warras.
- The case now moves toward a joint hearing with co-accused Victor Majola, a taxi boss suspected of orchestrating the hit.
The quest for justice for the family and fans of Warrick Stock, the beloved “DJ Warras,” took a quiet but significant turn in the Johannesburg Magistrates Court on Monday.
While the city remembers the vibrant life of the man who soundtracked their airwaves, the legal machinery began grinding against those accused of silencing him.
Armindo Pacula, a 25-year-old Mozambican national, stood briefly before the bench to face a grim list of charges: premeditated murder, conspiracy, and violating the Immigration Act.
The atmosphere was heavy with the contrast between the high-profile nature of the victim and the stark reality of the accused’s legal standing.
The proceedings reached an abrupt conclusion when Pacula’s legal representative announced he would no longer seek release.
The decision came after it was confirmed that Pacula is in South Africa illegally and has no verifiable local address, making a successful bail application virtually impossible.

Pacula will remain behind bars as the case pivots toward a joint appearance on Wednesday.
He will then stand alongside his co-accused, Victor Majola a Soweto taxi boss alleged to be the mastermind who orchestrated the hit on Stock.
