“Justice Must Have Eyes For All Of Us”
Ace Magashule, the suspended Secretary-General of the African National Congress (ANC), says state organs must be fair in dealing with President Cyril Ramaphosa’s farm robbery.
Magashule spoke to the media in Arlington, Free State, on Wednesday, June 8, 2022. Residents wanted to honour and thank him for what they said was the upliftment of the rural town during his tenure as provincial premier.

Former spy chief Arthur Fraser filed criminal charges against Ramaphosa last week, alleging that he concealed the theft of R62 million from his farm in Phala Phala, Limpopo. He also claims that the suspects were kidnapped and questioned before being offered money in exchange for their silence.
Ramaphosa has admitted there was a robbery on his property, but he denies criminal responsibility and claims the funds stolen were from the sale of cattle on his farm. The matter has also reached the desk of Public Protector advocate Busisiwe Mkhwebane, who is currently investigating and is expected to complete her investigation within 30 days.
Ace Magashule, who is facing charges in connection with a multi-million rand asbestos tender awarded during his tenure as Free State premier, says the justice system must treat everyone equally, including President Cyril Ramaphosa.

“Justice must have eyes for all of us and we are watching South Africa, we are watching the Integrity Committee of the African National Congress and we are watching the people of South Africa. Allegations any ways are allegations but because when it was allegations against us, people said we are corrupt. Now I hear people defending themselves and I say we must be treated the same,” he said.
For the time being, Ramaphosa is exempt from the party’s contentious step-aside policy because he has not been charged with anything. The same policy resulted in Magashule’s removal from his position at Luthuli House, pending the completion of the investigation.
