Former Kaizer Chiefs winger and iDiskiTV analyst Junior Khanye has given his view on the longstanding debate as to who is better between Lionel Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo.
With both players currently writing headlines at the 2022 FIFA World Cup, the debate about who between the two is the Great Player of All-time keeps on raging on – with either aiming to lift their first ever Jules Rimet trophy.
Messi has helped Argentina to reach the quarter-final where they will face the Netherlands, while Ronaldo and Portugal will face Switzerland in the round of 16 on Tuesday night.
Speaking to iDiski Times in 82 edition, Khanye has picked Messi as his favourite, saying you can’t compare the two as the Argentine is on another level.
“Ronaldo is a hard-working player and luck is on his side always. Messi is one of the most gifted ever players. He is one of the best,” he said.
“I think God has made a summary of himself and Messi is hard working but he’s blessed with talent.
“Look at his height and the way he jumps in the 18 yard area, the balance, quick feet, change of gear, understanding of the game, he’s a team player as well.
“Messi can be a team player and Cristiano Ronaldo is more of an individual.
“Yes, make no mistake, he’s a goal poacher, make no mistake he’s amongst the best but for me, you can’t compare him to Messi, he’s on another level.”
