TV presenter and musician Molemo Maarohanye, popularly known as Jub Jub, recently took to social media to address the mother of his son, singer Kelly Khumalo, sharing why he is absent in their son’s life.

This comes after Kelly took to L-Tido’s podcast, where she said that she has had to carry the responsibility of raising her children without much support from their fathers. In a series of videos that was shared by Jub Jub on his Instagram page, he called out Kelly for assassinating his character and portraying him as a deadbeat father. He shared that he has always wanted to be in Christian’s life, and has been sending gifts to his son even when he was arrested. However, he said Kelly would send them back.

“I’ve been looking at a lot of social media posts and comments and stuff about what the mother of my child has been saying about me. I don’t understand what exactly you’re trying to do, but firstly, I would like to thank you for raising up my boy at the time I couldn’t, when I was locked up.”

“I would like to thank you for being present when I was not there and when I was still trying to get up on my feet,” he said.

“However, I don’t like what you are doing; don’t do that. Don’t lie about me and assassinate my character. Stop saying that when you look at the boy, he reminds you of me. So you look at him with anger?”

The Ndikhokhele hitmaker added that even though he wants to take the legal route in order to be involved in his son’s life, he does not want him to go through that. He said that he has tried to involve the family to talk to Kelly, so that she can allow him to see their son, but nothing has happened.

“Don’t say I am a deadbeat dad, you go to these podcasts, you talk about me, and it’s going to be a trending topic that I must support my child. Don’t do that! So many times I wanted to pay damages, so many times I’ve wanted to do the right thing, the traditional way, but you’ve been locking me up,” he said.

Speaking to L-Tido on his podcast, Kelly said: “I have never received any support, even financially. They are all useless – well, except for one, Senzo Meyiwa. If he were here, trust me, he would have been hands-on and responsible,” she said.
