Mi Casa frontman J’Something has moved fans with a touching tribute to the late rapper AKA, performing a soulful cover of one of his biggest hits, “Congratulate.”

Sharing the performance on social media, J’Something expressed deep emotion in his caption, remembering the late hip-hop star not just as a musical icon but as a close friend.

“Congratulate by @akaworldwide. I miss you dude. The lack of your physical presence is so felt … to many and to so many others. Thank you for the music and above all the friendship. You’re still so alive in so many ways. Long live SUPA MEGA long live.”

The emotional post quickly resonated with fans, many of whom flooded the comments section with love and nostalgia for the late rapper.

The cover, stripped down and heartfelt, showcased J’Something’s signature soulful sound while paying homage to AKA’s legacy.

AKA, whose real name was Kiernan Forbes, was tragically killed in Durban in February 2023.

His passing left a lasting void in the South African music scene, with tributes continuing to pour in from fellow artists and fans who refuse to let his memory fade.

J’Something’s rendition of “Congratulate” serves as a reminder of the bond between two artists from different genres who shared a mutual respect for music and creativity.
