Former Orlando Pirates midfielder Joseph Kamwendo has singled one aspect which the Buccaneers still lack in the DStv Premiership.
The former Flames; Malawi national team skipper Joseph Kamwendo told FARPost that Pirates have quality players, but lack one thing.
The Malawian said the Buccaneers need to translate the quality of players into a strong team in the DStv Premiership.
Kamwendo said Orlando Pirates are let down by their lack of consistency.
‘ORLANDO PIRATES HAVE THE QUALITY INDIVIDUALLY’
“When I look at the players that they have, the likes of [Thembinkosi] Lorch and what have you, they are all quality players,” Kamwendo told FARPost.
“But when you talk about them as a team, I still believe that with the squad they have, they can still do much better.”
JOSEPH KAMWENDO SINGLES OUT AREAS PIRATES MUST IMPROVE ON
Kamwendo then explained what usually undermines Pirates in the DStv Premiership.
“Their biggest problem is consistency. They win two consecutive games and then they will draw three games and lose the fourth one,” he observed.
“That is the only problem with Pirates. But, when you talk about the quality, the technical panel and management, you can tell that they are a top-quality team.
“The only biggest problem for Pirates is the consistency.”
The former TP Mazembe star then explained what he really means about consistency considering Pirates recent three straight wins.
Kamwendo said he wants the Buccaneers to win games they ought to win, especially against title contenders.
“When you look at the way they are playing, it is a not a team that concedes a lot of goals,” he explained.
“It is also not a team that scores more goals [either]. When you talk about consistency, we are talking about them not getting the result that they want.”
