Jordaan Sends Message To Morocco

SAFA President Danny Jordaan has sent his and SAFA’s congratulations to Morocco, after they became the first African team to reach the World Cup semi-finals.

Morocco booked their historical last four spot after a stunning 1-0 win over Portugal in Saturday’s quarter-final.

Speaking via the football association, Dr Jordaan congratulated the Atlas Lions on their achievement

“Congratulations to Morocco,” Jordaan was quoted as saying by SAFA’s media department.

“A first for Africa, first team in the semi-finals of a World Cup since the inaugural tournament in 1930”.

“Africa waited for 92 years. Absolutely wonderful.

“A wonderful achievement for the Confederation of African Football under the leadership of our President Dr Patrice Motsepe.

“This is Africa’s best performance at a FIFA World Cup.”
