Jomo Cosmos have confirmed the sad passing of Sivuyile “Marcelo” Zozi, who passed away earlier on Wednesday.
The Ezenkosi are hit with the tragedy just weeks after their relegation from professional football in South Africa was confirmed.
Cosmos don’t give much details on what happened to Zozi, just stating he “passed away this morning”.
“The Jomo Cosmos family is in mourning following the loss of one of our players , Sivuyile “Marcelo” Zozi, who signed with Ezenkosi at the start of the current season. Zozi (25 years old) passed away this morning,” the club said in a statement.
Zozi had joined Cosmos from Bizana Pondo Chiefs after Chiefs’ relegation from National First Division and featured in 14 games this season.
