Job summary

To effectively implement best practice policies, processes and procedures to better manage the availability of consumable stock items and the optimization of procurement spent. Effectively issue stock items to JCPZ departments when required; improve stock control systems; reduce pilferage and recommend when stock items are obsolete in order to ensure that the right inventory items are available accordingly in relation to the business need.

Duties and responsibilities

• Maintains a neat, well organized system/ process of stock keeping
• Conduct stock-take on a regular basis
• Generates requisitions when stock items are depleted to re-order point

• Ensures safety/ buffer stock in place to cover between re-order point and zero stock level (min and max order points)
• Assists in identifying regularly utilized items to be kept in stock

• Ensures adherence to access control of stores
• Reports on stock variances and abnormal shortages to manager
• Monitors obsolete items and follow guidelines for disposal

• Liaises with relevant stakeholders to follow-up on stores orders

• Ensures efficient receiving of stock from suppliers in line with relevant processes
• Checks quality of stock before receiving from suppliers

• Ensures efficient issuing and collection/ delivery of stock to requesting department/ site in line with relevant processes
• Ensures all required documentation is maintained and filed for record purposes, and passed on to relevant departments

Qualifications and experience

• Qualification in Supply Chain/ Logistics (NQF Level 5)
• 2 years relevant experience (public sector experience will be added as advantage)
