Magesi head coach Jackie Ledwaba has promised that he will do everything in his power to give the club’s fans a good campaign to put Dikwena Tsa Meetse on the map.
He spoke during the club’s press conference on Wednesday at the New Peter Mokaba Press Theatre.
“As the head coach of the team, what I can promise or say is that we have assembled a very good team. A good brand of youth and experienced players,” he told the media.
“What we can promise the province is that we will make sure this team remains in this division [Motsepe Foundation Championship], and going forward, the team will be playing in the Premier Soccer League [PSL].”
The second-tier league newcomers find themselves four points adrift of log leaders, the University of Pretoria, having collected seven points in five games.
LEDWABA VOWS TO BRING POSITIVE RESULTS
“We did everything right since the pre-season, and everything went well according to the plan. So far, we have played five games, and from that five games, out of possible 15 points, we have managed to collect seven points,” he added.
“I will say that it is fair enough to collect those points, but we haven’t done much, and we haven’t done badly.
“So, going forward, starting with the game that we are going to play this weekend against Uthongathi, we will start collecting points because that is our primary objective this season.”
The ex-AmaZulu FC attacker encouraged the club’s faithful to continue to rally behind the team as they need them as the 12th man at the stadium.
“To everyone, I will say they must support us, and I promise all our fans and the people here in Limpopo that we will make sure that we fly the flag of this province very high,” explained the former Phiva Young Stars mentor.
The side will take on Uthongathi FC in their next league game away from home on Sunday, 9 October.
Kick-off is scheduled for 3:30 p.m.
