Actress and musician Itumeleng Bokaba has recently shared that a protection order has been granted against music executive Nhlamulo ‘Nota’ Baloyi, and that a warrant of arrest (suspended) has been issued.
The former Rhythm City star opened up about the progress of her case against Nota, following her withdrawal of the rape charges she laid against him last year.
Taking to her Instagram page, Itumeleng shared a picture of her flanked by lawyers, captioning her post: “Today, the court granted my protection order and issued a warrant of arrest, suspended, but ready to activate if the order is violated. Now I’m protected by more than just my voice, I’m protected by the law.”
The May’babo singer also shared a separate video where she was addressing her trolls regarding the pending case.
She clarified that she was addressing this matter on social media for the last time, and that she is not at liberty to share the fine details of the case on online platforms because it is an ongoing case in the court of law.
In the video, she also said that instead of them asking her questions, they should ask themselves why Nota withdrew his protection order, and why was hers granted.
She further advised netizens to keep quiet in this matter, because they were not there and they would never know what happened between her and Nota.
Itumeleng opened a case of rape at the Douglasdale Police Station against Nota, who later handed himself over at the Randburg Police station.
He was then released on R5 000 bail after he appeared at the Randburg Magistrate’s Court. Itumeleng later announced her decision to withdraw charges to focus on an exciting project in her career that was coming up at the time.
She alluded that she remains firm in her truth, and that she will revisit the case at a later stage when she is in a better position to do so.
