It isn’t getting any easier – Kerr | Breaking News

Swallows head coach Dylan Kerr admits the recent results could lead to him facing the consequences but has urged his players to take more responsibility.

The Dube Birds are winless in their last five matches and remain second from the bottom. Two points above the bottom-placed Baroka.

When asked what needs to be done to change Swallows’ fortunes in the remaining five league matches, Kerr pointed out the attitude in his dressing room.

“That dressing room (need to change), that dressing room,” said Kerr.

“For the first time, a goalkeeper (Thela Thela) stood up in that dressing room and spoke about how scared he is because he loves this club and wants everybody to take responsibility.

“I am the one who has been in this position three times. I know what it’s all about, and I have done it (save clubs),” he said.

“It isn’t getting any easier; this league is difficult if you don’t put the ball in the back of the net, this league is difficult if you let in stupid goals, and I can’t blame the defenders for the work ethic. But we got to be better, we are controlling the game, and we get into positions where we got to be nasty.

“At the end of the day, I am the one who is going to face the consequences, not them. We all have these issues, and every footballer has issues, but we never use that as an excuse. You can see the way we are playing, the way we attack, the spirit we got is very good. But I just want them to be clinical in front of goals, and we are not, I don’t know why,” added Kerr.

Swallows’ last five matches are against Baroka, AmaZulu, SuperSport United, Chippa United and Kaizer Chiefs.
