Andile Jali, a former player for the Orlando Pirates, is rumoured to be returning to the club. However, his agent Mike Makaab has stated that no decision has been made regarding Jali’s future. Jali, who is 33 years old, recently parted ways with the Sundowns after winning numerous titles and awards during his five seasons with the team.
Despite his success, Jali lost his spot in the first eleven during the last campaign due to a change in the team’s tactical system. Teboho Mokoena was selected as the preferred player for the six roles.
Andile Jali played in 15 games before January but did not play again before his official exit from Sundowns was confirmed last month. This coincided with rumours that he is set to rejoin the Orlando Pirates, who finished second to Sundowns and won the MTN8 and Nedbank Cup under head coach Jose Riveiro.
Jali’s agent, Mike Makaab, stated that Jali had not joined a new club yet, but they are actively in talks with other clubs and hope for more clarity next week. Makaab emphasized the importance of finding a club that makes both the player and the club happy financially and from a sporting perspective. He also mentioned that there had been a lot of speculation about Jali’s future, but negotiations are not as far advanced as some may assume.
During his time with the Orlando Pirates from 2009 to 2014, Andile Jali won numerous titles, including two league titles, two MTN8 crowns, one Telkom Knockout title, and one Nedbank Cup title. After his successful stint with the Pirates, Jali earned a move to KV Oostende in Belgium.
