Kaizer Chiefs forward Wandile Duba is not worried about his place in the team despite the arrival of three strikers this season.
Amakhosi have signed Flavio Silva, Etiosa Ighodaro and Kanyisa Mayo. Duba scored five league goals last season and was one of the team’s best players, helping them to the Nedbank Cup triumph in May.
The 20-year-old has started four matches for Chiefs this campaign but is yet to score or create an assist.
“I think last season I did show that I’m ready for anything and willing to be Kaizer Chiefs number one striker,” said Duba as per iDiski Times.
“I’m happy now that there’s Etiosa [Ighodaro] and Flavio [Silva] that I will learn from because they have been there. They always coach me at training. I’m ready to be number one.
Duba unfazed by new Kaizer Chiefs signings
“Even last season with other strikers, they were pushing me to work hard and be the number one. So, I don’t think with them arriving, it will change a lot. I will still train hard and if I have to play, then I’ll be number one,” Duba added.
The Kaizer Chiefs forward can play as a striker or winger, giving him an advantage over the likes of Mayo, Silva and Ighodaro.
Should Duba start games for Amakhosi?
