They serve rather short sentences and are often (but not always) able to pick up their lives where they left off. Society can be very forgiving when it comes to those who do their time and repent their crimes.

Then there are the celebrities whose criminal activities are on an entirely different level, necessitating several years in prison. They’ve committed crimes that are so bad, it’s next to impossible for fans to forget what they did.

The men and women in this list have been involved in sex crimes, trafficked huge amounts of drugs, and even committed murder. Some admit that they broke the law, while others continue to maintain their innocence.

Either way, they’re stuck behind bars for a very long time.
It’s unclear what they will do when they’re released from prison.

Some may die while serving out their sentences, while others may disappear from public scrutiny. Regardless, their legacies are forever linked to their poor choices in judgement.

Pitch Black Afro is suspected of murdering his wife on New Year’s Eve, 2018. On January 9th, 2019, he was arrested. He was charged with premeditated murder and obstruction of justice when he appeared in court in Johannesburg, South Africa.

Reeva Steenkamp, the girlfriend of Oscar Leonard Carl Pistorius, was shot and killed in 2013.

When Pistorius submitted documentation with the Constitutional Court on the 19th of December, it was discovered that he was attempting to get his six-year sentence reinstated.

He won’t be eligible for parole until at least 2023 after the appeal was dismissed on March 28th, 2018, by the courts.

Sindisiwe Manqele

Flabba’s murderer Sindisiwe Manqele was sentenced to 12 years in prison. Nkululeko Habedi, a rapper from South Africa, was murdered by Sindisiwe in 2015.

Judge Solly Sithole of the High Court of Palm Ridge handed down the sentence in March of that year.

Sandile Mantsoe

An ex-boyfriend of Karabo Mokoena’s, Sandile Mantsoe, has been sentenced to 32 years in prison for her murder. Forex trader Sandile was well-known for bragging about his fortune on social media.

As well as assault with the intent to cause serious injury, Sandile was found guilty of obstructing the course of justice and committing a felony.
