Idris Elba stunned by how good his Madame Tussauds statue is

An excited Idris Elba saw the statue version of himself for the first time this week when Madame Tussauds unveiled it in London.

The statue was so close to the real man that even Elba was overwhelmed by the similarities. He was visibly stunned when he came face-to-face with the wax figure.

“I’m really freaked out, if I’m really honest… It’s the eyes. Whew, I don’t know what to say, man, it’s crazy,” Elba reacted.

The Wire actor posted the unveiling on Facebook and captioned it: “From Hackney to Hollywood and back home again. Seeing my first ever figure standing tall at Madame Tussauds London is a real full circle moment. I grew up here, I was shaped here, and no matter where work takes me, this city is always part of who I am.”

In one of the videos Elba posted on Facebook, he makes a call to his mother, pointing the camera at the statue instead of himself.

“I’ve gotta call my mom… she’s gonna freak,” the actor says.

“I can see you,” his mother responds.

He then points the camera at himself, then both himself and the statue. His mother starts laughing when she sees her mistake.

“Oh my God, ” she responds

“It looks so real, it’s crazy, I can’t believe it. Say hi to my mom, guys,” says Elba before pointing the camera at the small audience at the unveiling.

“I love you, Mom. I’ll call you back,” says Elba.

Idris Elba’s wife Sabrina gives the statue her stamp of approval

“Sabrina, what do you think?” Elba asked his wife, who was in the audience.

“I love it,” Sabrina responds.

“Who are you attracted to more?” the actor jokes, much to the audience’s amusement.
