I’d Appreciate My Peers In Next Round – Mammila

Chippa United coach Morgan Mammila says he would prefer a DStv Premiership side in the next round of the Nedbank Cup.

Chippa were the last team to be confirmed in the last-16 after coming from behind, enduring extra time, and eventually winning 3-1 on penalties over Polokwane City on Tuesday evening.

Already a minnow has caused an upset in the last 32, ABC Motsepe League side Dondol Stars eliminated SuperSport United from the competition and Mammila would like to avoid those type of surprises.

“To be honest with you I will be happy if I can get a premiership team because they’ve got something to lose. They’ve got pressure,” he said after the game on Tuesday.

“These Dondolos [Dondol Stars] and others they have got nothing to lose. There is no pressure it is like they are coming into the game for entertainment and they will surprise you.

“I don’t want to see them. I’m just praying to God to help me and give me intanga zami [my peers]”

The draw is scheduled for this evening in Randburg at 18h00.
