The late Ian Palmer’s teenage nephew Brodwyn Palmer has joined the newly promoted Motsepe Foundation Championship side La Masia on a one-year deal.
The 19-year-old, according to his agent – Andrew Matjila of Living the Dream Sport Agency – is excited to return closer to home. He spent last season at Black Leopards, who offered him his first professional contract, as an 18-year-old.
“I think it’s an important move for the young man because he spent last season away from home; now he will be closer. His family will watch him play because he’s been in Limpopo.
“The whole of Eldorado Park will also have a chance to see him in action,” Matjila told FARPost.
Interestingly, as a youngster playing Kasi tournaments, he often featured for the club. “He used to play for them in the kasi tournament, and now he gets to represent them as they play professional football.”
He honed his skills at Stars of Africa, where he spent four years before joining Black Leopards.
