Fitness influencer and reality TV star Sbahle Mpisane has spoken candidly about her past relationship with Bafana Bafana goalkeeper Itumeleng Khune.

In a recent appearance on the Engineer Your Life podcast, Sbahle reflected on the near-fatal car accident she survived years ago and how it impacted her romance with Khune.

She revealed that despite her memory loss at the time, Khune stood by her side and cared for her during her recovery in hospital.

Speaking on KwaMamKhize’s reality show in 2020, Sbahle spoke about their breakup.

“Me and him didn’t fight over it. There were no issues. We said goodbye. The guy was fully supportive. He called me every day when I was in hospital. But then, because of my amnesia, I forgot why I fell in love with him. He was there for me throughout,” she shared.

Sbahle explained that distance also played a role in their split, as Khune was based in Johannesburg while she lived in Durban.

“I need someone who’ll give me a hug and kiss me. I needed more of him, but he was just not available. So, it was best for me to say bye and wish him the best to find someone who is going to give him a child because I don’t have time to fall pregnant,” she added.

Although their relationship ended quietly and without drama, Sbahle admitted that at one point she felt angry about surviving the accident, which further influenced her decision to end things.

Khune has since moved on, marrying and starting a family, while Sbahle’s recent revelations have sparked mixed reactions online.
