Bonang Matheba reveals bold plan to take House of BNG to the skies

Bonang Matheba has never shied away from making daring moves in business, and her latest ambition is nothing short of groundbreaking.

The media personality and entrepreneur revealed that her focus this year is to see her luxury beverage brand, House of BNG, served on airlines and eventually reach markets beyond South Africa.

“I want to get into airlines,” she said in an exclusive interview.

“As a woman getting into any industry, it will always come with its challenges. Right at the beginning of BNG, I had a legal dispute with a number of people… that was the difficulty of business.”

Since launching in 2019, Matheba has had to navigate a male-dominated industry, even becoming the first black woman to join the prestigious Cap Classique Producers Association.

Still, she continues to push boundaries, positioning her sparkling wine brand in top lifestyle spaces such as hotels, restaurants, and high-profile events including Miss South Africa and President Cyril Ramaphosa’s inauguration.

The star also shared details about a new product set to launch in October 2025, a canned BNG Mimosa created for on-the-go celebrations.

“We want a variant for every occasion. Mimosas in the morning, Brut in the afternoon, and Nectars in the evening,” she explained.

For Matheba, House of BNG is more than just a luxury drink, it’s a symbol of creating spaces and opportunities for young people.

“I want to be in a place where I’m helping young people. Where I’m creating networks for young people through my foundation,” she added.
