Zee Nxumalo snubbed after 7 Metro FM nods

Music star Zee Nxumalo has sparked debate online after reacting to her outcome at the Metro FM Music Awards 2026.

Taking to X after the ceremony, the singer shared her confusion, especially as her latest project continues to perform well.

“God you’re confusing me… I just lost 7 awards but my new EP is doing WELL… What must happen?” she wrote.

Zee recently released her EP Izinja Zam, which has quickly climbed streaming charts and ranked among the top albums just days after its release.

Her post quickly drew mixed reactions from social media users, with some offering encouragement while others were more critical of her expectations.

One user wrote, “you don’t have a rich father with connections in the music industry. when you don’t have connections things will unfortunately take longer for you and you will have to work 10 x harder. Kuyolunga ngelinye ilanga. South Africa loves you.”

Another added, “You must accept that Metro Awards are not your Mom’s awards.”

A more critical comment read, “I listen to Metro FM almost everyday, and truth be told you didn’t deserve to win any award. You got what you deserved. Metro FM has nothing to do with charts, SAMAs does.”
