Tshakhuma Tsha Madzivhandila striker Rhulani Manzini has opened up about the incident that led to his departure at Marumo Gallants (formerly TTM).
The club terminated Manzini’s contract after allegedly being involved in a fistfight with former teammate Alfred Ndengane, leaving the latter with a bloody scar on his face.
Although inside sources told this publication that the 34-year-old was used as a scapegoat for the incident, Manzini has never publicly defended himself.
“Obviously, it’s football, and things happen in the heat of the moment. But even though the media buried me and said I assaulted someone,” Manzini told the media at Tuesday’s club’s training grounds in Louis Trichardt, Limpopo.
“It was not the right story, but I know the truth, and I didn’t want validation going to the media defending myself. But I know the truth, they know the truth and everyone knows the truth.
“I can not just attack someone, do you understand? It’s unlike me. Unless you are being provoked. But I have forgiven, moved on, and am enjoying my football here at TTM, and the evidence is there, so we are pushing,” he said.
