Hunt Questions Mammila Comments – iDiski Times

SuperSport United coach Gavin Hunt has questioned Morgan Mammila’s recent comments about how other coaches in the DStv Premiership are performing.

Mammila was very bullish towards journalists when asked about his job security after his side’s 2-1 defeat to Mamelodi Sundowns, insisting he is doing better than coaches with Pro Licenses.

The outspoken Chippa coach also seemingly had a go at Orlando Pirates coach Jose Riveiro, pointing out that the “white guy” lost three games in a row before asking whether the Spaniard was also asked about his job security.

Hunt has now discussed Mammila’s claims, saying he won’t comment much on other coaches and there should be a code of conduct as to what topics should be discussed in the media and which shouldn’t out of respect for the other coaches in the league.

“I don’t think it’s the right platform to comment about coaches,” he said.

“I think we’ve got a guy down whose making all the comments at the moment, you know who I’m talking about.

“He’s making, talking, maybe he’s looking for a job, I think. I mean you can’t be making comments about everything, it’s just ridiculous.

“You don’t talk about things like that, there is a special code of conduct you should have to talk about [other coaches].

“When you see the person first hand then you can tell them [what you think]. That’s when those conversations take place but not in the media.

“It shouldn’t be spoken, who and how and what… There should be ethics and a professional conduct – maybe it doesn’t happen enough here.”

Hunt and his team return to action on Monday when they will face Mamelodi Sundowns in the Tshwane Derby. They currently sit in second place, 13 points behind Masandawana with one game in hand.
