SuperSport United mentor Gavin Hunt has outlined two important aspects his charges must do to come out on top against Maritzburg United on Friday evening in the DStv Premiership.
Hunt urgues the team to take their opportunities in front of goal and defend well.
Results haven’t been coming for SuperSport because the team lacks clinical finishing and their defence have been shaky.
In six leagues matches they have played so far, the team managed to score five goals and conceded six. Their only scorers are Bradley Grobler and teen sensation Thapelo Maseko with three and two goals reaspectively.
Hunt is eyeing back-to-back wins at the club for the first time this season.
Both sides head to the match motivated are downing big teams last time out. The Tshwane giants defeated rivals Mamelodi Sundowns 2-1, whilst The Team of Choice scored a last minute penalty to seal a one nil victory against Orlando Pirates.
“We have to score more goals than them [Maritzburg United], we have to defend well and take our chances when we get them, it’s pretty much how football works,” Hunt told PowerFM.
“There is no secret formular, we have to defend well when we out of possession and when we got possession we need to score. It’s never going to be a easy game down there, they got a good result in the last game.”
Hunt further outlined the importance of being consistent in every match. According to him, it helps in grinding good results and occupying a good position on the log table.
“We want good performance and we want to keep ourselves up in the league. We want to keep ourselves in good position and have a good season. Every game is important, we’ll take it one game at a time,” he added.
Kickoff at Harry Gwala Stadium is at 19:30
