A Mozambican traditional healer appeared before the Ga-Rankuwa Magistrates’ Court on Friday after he was allegedly found in possession of human organs.
The accused, 26-year-old Aizeque Zacaria Cumbuia, was reportedly caught with human tissue inside a room where he practised as a traditional healer.
Police made the shocking discovery while investigating a murder case in Brits, where a woman was killed, her body parts removed, and her body burnt.
During the court appearance, the magistrate heard that the State intends to oppose any bail application, arguing that Cumbuia’s release could jeopardise the investigation and pose a risk to the community.
The case was postponed to Monday, 28 August 2025 for a formal bail application.
